Our tool connects to a free API (open.er-api.com) with USD as the base to offer instantaneous conversions across 19 major currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, HKD, TWD, and CNY. In addition to direct rates, we also provide cross-rate calculations—determining the implicit conversion rate between two currencies via a third benchmark currency, which is highly useful for arbitrage analysis or evaluating emerging market rates.
Worked examples
- Converting 10,000 HKD to TWD: Assuming 1 HKD ≈ 4.1 TWD, the result is roughly 41,000 TWD.
- Cross rates: If there's no direct quote between Japanese Yen (JPY) and Thai Baht (THB), calculating via USD provides the most accurate benchmark: JPY → USD → THB.
